Our Approach

At Support Learning, our work with stories has taken shape over time through two distinct yet closely connected projects: Immersive Storytelling and Travelling Libraries. Each project has its own identity, while sharing a common vision — literature as a powerful space for understanding, empathy, and growth.

Background and Foundations

My work is rooted in many years of experience in education and children’s literature, alongside an ongoing personal engagement with Jungian thought and Art Therapy. These influences are held as open inquiries that deepen sensitivity to symbolism, imagination, and creative expression within educational contexts. This background continues to actively shape how stories are selected, shared, and explored with children and young people today, informed by sustained engagement with international children’s literature, global voices, and literary events.

Immersive Storytelling

Immersive Storytelling invites children to step inside stories.

Our sessions place picture book art at the heart of how children enter narratives. Images act as gateways into meaning-making, alongside gentle invitations to live the   stories through movement, creative response, and reflection. Within this shared narrative frame, emotions, questions of choice, relationships, and identity are explored and seen in a new light.

Stories live beyond the page.
They are inhabited.

Travelling Libraries

Working in dialogue with Immersive Storytelling, Travelling Libraries are curated, mobile collections of children’s and young adult picture books, designed to circulate within schools and communities. Each library is thoughtfully assembled around themes of inclusivity, diversity, understanding, and Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), offering titles not readily available in the local market.

Libraries travel.
New connections take shape.

A Shared Vision

Immersive Storytelling and Travelling Libraries are designed as independent projects, each offering an individual way of engaging with literature. When brought into dialogue, they deepen a living relationship with stories, sparking thought, reflection, and growth.

We invite you to explore how Immersive Storytelling and Travelling Libraries might become part of your school, community, or educational projects. I would be glad to support your work.

How are Travelling Libraries implemented?

All three selections include picture books for:

Kinder SEL: featuring recently published titles as well as some memorable classics to promote SEL (Socio-Emotional Learning). This selection comes with soft dolls and book character toys to liven up teachers’ read-alouds.

Primary SEL: comprising picture books about life-affirming themes to develop empathy and understanding of the self and others with a focus on cultural diversity.Ideal for grades 2 to 5.

Primary DIVERSE BOOKS: featuring diverse picture books unfolding stories that expand awareness into culture, identity and social justice. Most suitable for Grades 4 and up, and ideal to be used as entry points into social studies. Based on real life events.

Three steps:
1. Each case is delivered with a selection of 25 one-of-a-kind picture books.
2. The books stay at the school for a period of ten days. (two weeks)
3. The cases are picked up by the end of the loan period.

The teacher opens the suitcase and… what’s next?

A handbook with innovative ideas is provided to make the most of this unique literacy experience.
